How HCD works
- Map the real calls. We list the decisions that actually drive rework, downtime, and escalation on your floor. Your situations, not generic competencies.
- Measure the gap, per person. We find where each supervisor knows the right move but does not make it, and where they do not yet know it. The two need different help. This is the Diagnostic Gap Model.
- Build the judgment in the flow of work. Each person gets focused practice and live AI support on their own gap, on the line, not in a classroom.
- Prove it on the numbers. We track escalations, rework, and decision speed. If the judgment improved, those move, and you can see it.
What this is worth
The cost of poor quality, mostly rework and scrap, runs 15 to 20 percent of sales in typical operations (ASQ). A real share of that traces back to a wrong call, not a broken machine, and that share is recoverable. On top of it, decisions that pile up on one or two people slow the whole business, and weak situational awareness slows decision speed by around 40 percent (McKinsey). HCD goes after both.
What it looks like on your floor
A supervisor hits a situation that is slightly off spec. Today they stop the line and call you, or they guess and you find the rework next week.
